Sam Houston Hotel Open House

We were contacted by the director of sales and marketing of the recently renamed Alden Hotel back to it’s roots as the Sam Houston Hotel. We were more than happy to assist with covering the open house to welcome back the original name with all of their preferred clients and industry professionals. The terrace ballroom and restaurant were decorated by Events in Bloom while entertainment was provided upstairs by LG Entertainment and Jonny Black Productions in the lobby. They even had a Sam Houston character roaming the event.

2013 NACE Houston Wedding Trends

We were more than happy to document the seventh annual NACE Houston Wedding Trends Event held at the Bell Tower on 34th. With well over 300 in attendance to witness some of the many fantastic wedding displays and the many food and drink vendors. This year’s featured speaker was Sonny Ganguly, CMO of WeddingWire and presented a program that tied into the evenings theme of “Weddings, Wired! New Texas Trends”. This has become the single biggest event of the year for the Houston wedding industry to show off new and exciting trends.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse Houston Open House

Sullivan’s Steakhouse of Houston hosted an open house to show off the newly converted Ringside Room to a private function room and invited their clients and those in the events industry to check out the updates and enjoy lunch. They had a great turnout and can better accommodate small to medium size private events in the rooms now.

We were recently brought in to cover a special event hosted by Merrill Lynch featuring the husband wife political duo of James Carville and Mary Matalin. The dinner and panel discussion was prompted by the upcoming election and was hosted at the St Regis Hotel Houston for some of the investment company’s top Texas clients.

2012 NACE Experience! in New Orleans

Once again I participated in the NACE Experience which this year was held at the New Orleans Marriott. Our Houston Chapter had a very busy and fun filled experience for three and a half days in the Big Easy. Some of our featured speakers included Simon T Bailey and local entrepreneur Chef John Besh. We were even greeted by the infamous 610 Stompers on the opening evening. So much to share so enjoy the images.

With the elections that were held during the conference, the National Board now features three members of our local chapter:

Lisa Hopkins with the Houstonian – President

Adam Rineer with the Westin Galleria – Secretary/Treasurer

Gary Baumann with the Royal Sonesta Hotel – Foundation President

In addition to all of the education and entertainment our local chapter was also recognized by winning several awards at the evening gala.

Jake’s Bar Mitzvah

This past Saturday we got to capture Jake’s Bar Mitzvah. The ceremony was held at the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism with a party held later in the evening at Jake’s parent’s lovely Tanglewood residence. The whole event was meticulously planned by Tracy Rushton of Bash events. The adults had an elegant summer coctail party indoors catered by A Fare Extraordinaire, while the kids partied outside on an LED dancefloor provided by Bright Star Productions and Damon and his crew from PRP Entertainment kept “Club All Minors” pumping for the teens. They also had a virtual reality roller coaster for the kids which was just amazing!

Wedding Trends 2012 Event Featuring Sarah Haywood

On April 18, 2012 the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives is hosting their 6th Annual Wedding Trends Event. And for the sixth year in a row D. Jones Photography will be the primary event photographers. Greater Houston area public interested in seeing what some of the finest event professionals in Houston can produce are welcome to attend.

Qatar Petroleum

During the week of OTC we were brought in to cover the press conference and reception hosted by Qatar Petroleum at the Houstonian. They were announcing the 20th World Petroleum Congress to be held in Doha, Qatar later this year. The rendition of their convention center which is slated to open this summer is simply amazing. As with most OTC events many of the movers and shakers of the oil industry were in attendance.

Petroleum Club of Houston

From time to time several of our preferred venues call on us to create images specific to their advertising needs. This installment is for the Petroleum Club of Houston, which wanted to update some of their room shots as well as food shots of their annual wine dinner they were hosting that evening. And to top it off they also provided some amazing cakes to feature the work of their pastry chef Eunice.
