This past Saturday, before we headed over to the Watters wedding, Laura stopped by the Hotel ZaZa and took some photos for Rob at Events in Bloom. The couple really had Rob go all out for this one with a beautiful bright red, pink and purple decor. A little birdie told me that groom plays professional basketball for the Golden State Warriors.

This past Thursday Laura was asked to go grab a few quick shots of a gorgeous room set up that Events in Bloom had put together for a business dinner at the Remington Restaurant Restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel Houston.
The lavish dinner for 20 guests had the full treatment with lots of white roses, calla lilies and orchids. Rob also set up four crystal centerpieces atop a huge mirrored table. There were two lounge areas with custom embroidered pillows with the companies logo and he even had napkins custom embroidered for the client.
This intimate dinner party was expertly planned by Christine Hoffer of Belle of the Ball events.
Amy and Robert were married on June 20, 2009 at St. Luke’s UMC with a reception following at the Houston Country Club. We started our day off at the country club to capture the bride getting ready and take care of some of the formal portraits. Sometimes this works out great for us and the couple as the country clubs generally offer a lot more room and change of scenery than your typical church bridal room. We then headed over to St. Luke’s where a bagpiper was on the lawn playing in honor of her Scottish heritage as the guests entered for the church. After the ceremony we all headed over to the club for a fabulous reception. I am not sure fabulous even really describes it. Rob with Events in Bloom impressed the crowd with the amazing florals, decor and lounge furniture. He and Amy’s mother Adele, along with the help of Kristen McShane with Keely Thorne Events, really worked together to make this one event to remember for generations to come. For the second weekend in a row our event was entertained by Blind Date from Austin, Texas, who are all kinds of energetic and awesome. Cakes were provided by Marlene Romero and lighting by Bright Star Productions. The couple will reside in Houston after their Hawaiian honeymoon.

Recently David photographed Amy at her parent’s home in Tanglewood for her bridal portraits. Amy was a pleasure to work with and her dress was amazing. The veil is actually her mother’s and works so well with the dress. The bouquet was provided by Events in Bloom. We can now share these images as her wedding was this last weekend. Wedding day images should follow by the end of the week.

Our images from Kelley Watson and John Mutschink’s wedding is featured in the Fall/Winter 2009 edition of Houston Brides by Modern Luxury Magazines. Check it out on news stands soon.
David was on hand this past Wednesday to cover the NACE Wedding Trends 2009 Luncheon at the new House of Blues venue downtown. The theme for this year’s event was Indian weddings and the vendors involved went all out! As one can expect with an Indian wedding, there were so many rich colors and textures in just about everything. The food and cakes were absolutely amazing as were the flowers, lighting, dancers and musicians involved. Radhika Day from Weddings in Houston was on hand to speak and offer her expertise in this specialized area. The board really pulled out all the stops for this one and the attendance was over 200 people!

We covered Cicely and her fiance’s wedding this past weekend. The ceremony was held at First Presbyterian Houston with the reception following at the Petroleum Club of Houston which has some of the best views of downtown as it is on the 43rd floor of the Exxon building. This was such a fun and lively wedding and was beautifully decorated with florals by Events in Bloom, linens and chair covers provided by The Linen House and an ice bar and specialty drink ice station from Ice Designs.
The couple met at Sky Bar, so they had one of the house bands play, which was quite significant to them. Melanie Covington’s band was fantastic, and boy could the couple (and petty much all of their guests) dance! At one point the multi-talented bride got up on stage and played drums!
The bride’s wedding gown was designed by Vera Wang and she had gorgeous, pink Christian Louboutin shoes. The guests were treated to a steak and lobster dinner and in addition to wedding cake by Susie’s Cakes, the guests were served a flaming dessert course.
This was truly a first class wedding, with so many little details that made the whole thing come together perfectly. Cecily and LonDee will reside in Houston after they return from their honeymoon in Aruba.

Laura was asked by Rob at Events in Bloom to go over and take some photos of his floral artistry this past Saturday. So after working at the Jonakin wedding, she headed over to the Houstonian for some detail shots before that wedding party arrived. We love taking photos for Rob, he always has such awesome designs.
This past Saturday we were asked to document the room and details of the gorgeous floral decorations Events in Bloom put together for a Bar Mitzvah at the Houstonian. This was definitely a party this young man and his family will remember for years to come.
Laura and Alex are getting married this March in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and our very own Laura Burlton is going to cover their destination wedding. Meanwhile, stateside, the bride wanted something a bit different for her portraits so we suggested Festival Hill in Round Top for her session. The bride is a model for Page713, so this made our job pretty easy. That and the gorgeous and unique location made for some pretty awesome photos. Also it must be mentioned that the absolutely gorgeous bouquet of orchids and roses was provided by Rob at Events in Bloom.
