Jill + Patrick wedding

Jill and Patrick ¬†were married last weekend at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Dubina with a reception following at Ludvik’s Place, a bed and breakfast in Schulenberg.

A few days before the wedding was to take place, Jill had an accident in her back yard and managed to sprain both of her ankles, she is not normally in a wheelchair. However the wedding was still a beautiful success because she and Patrick are such a cool couple.

The church is one of the famous painted churches that abound in Fayette County and was absolutely gorgeous. The reception was held inside a quaint barn on the property of a bed and breakfast. Although it was a little cold and windy that day, the guests all had a blast.

Music was provided by a local accordion player and barbecue was catered in from a place in Schulenberg. The couple chose not to have a traditional wedding cake, but instead decided to have pies from Royer’s Cafe in nearby Round Top (excellent choice!).

And while they did not have a garter and bouquet toss, they did have a pinata (a giant cupcake), which was impossibly hard to crack, but eventually they were able to do it ūüôā

Again, such a fun wedding! Congratulations you guys, you are awesome!

Shanda + David engagement

Shanda and David were so much fun to hang out with. We got to knock around South Congress Ave in Austin and take lots of photos. Although it is out of town, this is one of my absolutely favorite places to hang out and I try to go out there as much as possible. I have just seen it grow and change so much since I was in high school in Austin in the 80’s. Shanda and David are getting married in Austin in April and I know their wedding is going to rock because Shanda is a creative kind of gal (and an art teacher). I can’t wait to take photos!

Brooke + Trey wedding I

David traveled to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico this last weekend to cover the destination wedding of Brooke and Trey. The wedding festivities were held at the amazing Cabo Azul Resort. Brooke and Trey were so laid back and easy to work with as were their friends and family. It certainly was an honor to have been chosen to be their photographer.

In total 34 people were in attendance. Nearly all of them came in from Texas. The bride’s signature color orange was reflected in various ways. From the invitations, programs, monogrammed towels and dinner napkins, groom’s tie and cuff links, flowers and especially her shoes. David was also impressed by her wedding ring which was a diamond in the raw.

The ceremony was held in an unbelievable outdoor pavilion, El Corazon. It is an open-air, five story wedding chapel with candles, water falls and torches that overlooks the Sea of Cortez. All I can say is that it is simply an amazing location. The lighting, design and view were unmatched for an outdoor ceremony. A single lantern was placed at the front in memory or Trey’s mother.

Following the ceremony David led the couple down to the beach for sunset shots.

The cocktail hour and dinner was held outdoors on the veranda overlooking the beach at¬†Javier’s Restaurant. After dinner and toasts, the guests were invited inside for dancing and cake

Brooke + Trey rehearsal and dinner

Following the rehearsal for Brooke and Trey, guests were transported by vans to the town of Cabo San Lucas for dinner at Mi Casa Restaurant. They were greeted with Mexican beer, Mi Casa Margaritas and more. Throughout dinner, musicians strolled through as well as balloon and caricature artists. Following dinner, a portion of the group headed on to the infamous Cabo Wabo Cantina.

Brooke + Trey engagement

While on location in Cabo, David arranged to take the couple’s engagement portrait. With such an impressive resort and great looking couple he managed to squeeze in a session directly before and after the rehearsal. Brooke and Trey were all in. As the couple lives in Dallas, we had not actually met in person and afforded us an opportunity to get to know each other a little better before the big day, not to mention walking away with some killer images.

Cabo Azul Resort

David traveled to Los Cabos, Mexico last week for a fantastic destination wedding. We thought we would share some of the images of the amazing resort which opened in 2007 and is receiving all sorts of awards and praise. If you are headed down to Cabo you should definitely look into the Cabo Azul Resort. The facility is only 50% complete yet the attention to detail and design was unbelievable. The villas had full kitchens, over sized garden tubs and spacious balconies. David is ready to return, just name the date!
