We recently had the pleasure of working with the legendary Phil Collins, but not in regards to his musical career. It is an amazing story how Phil became enamored with Davy Crockett and the Alamo is his childhood and to later become the largest collector of Alamo historical artifacts. He has become one of the few recognized as a true historical biographer with his collection and newly released book, “The Alamo and Beyond: A Collector’s Journey”

This stop was part of a four city tour promoting the book which a portion of the proceeds are going to the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA).Presenting this evening were McMurry University professors, Stephen L. Hardin and Donald S. Frazier as well as J.P. Bryan of Torch Energy Advisors where the event was held. A unexpected surprise was a gift to Phil by one of the guests which providing him with a very rare treat of being commissioned as an Honorary Admiral in the Texas Navy.
