We were recently on hand to cover the wedding reception for Beth and Guillaume at the St Regis Houston. The couple were previously married and were in town to celebrate with friends and family. Guillaume’s family traveled from Paris and Marseilles to attend. Flowers and decorations were provided by David Brown Flowers while the evening entertainment was from Midstream Band. Following a honeymoon the couple will reside in San Francisco.
Once again the Houston Chapter of NACE successfully hosted the 6th Annual Wedding Trends Event. This year the fete was held at the amazing Corinthian with catering by Jackson and Co. Laura and I are both members of the networking organization and have participated in capturing the event every year. This has become the single biggest event of the year for the Houston wedding industry to show off new and exciting trends.
This year’s guest presenter was the award winning, internationally acclaimed British wedding designer and coordinator Sarah Haywood. Some of our guests registered for the VIP treatment which included pre event cocktails, hor d’oerves, a signed copy of her Wedding Bible Planner as well as an opportunity to have their photo taken with our guest.
With approximately 300 in attendance the Royal theme was well received. Stations included ceremony set up, cocktail reception, brunch setting, English tea setting, semi formal setting as well as a European formal setting. There was certainly was not a shortage of things to see, taste and of course drink.

We had the pleasure of working with Lindsey on her bridal portraits back in March at her parent’s home. She and Bradley were wed this past weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia. Bouquet courtesy of Plants N’ Petals.
This past Saturday we got to capture Jake’s Bar Mitzvah. The ceremony was held at the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism with a party held later in the evening at Jake’s parent’s lovely Tanglewood residence. The whole event was meticulously planned by Tracy Rushton of Bash events. The adults had an elegant summer coctail party indoors catered by A Fare Extraordinaire, while the kids partied outside on an LED dancefloor provided by Bright Star Productions and Damon and his crew from PRP Entertainment kept “Club All Minors” pumping for the teens. They also had a virtual reality roller coaster for the kids which was just amazing!
We had the pleasure of being brought in to cover this corporate event for Schlumberger. The Opening Day event coincided with the their new state of the art Core Analysis Laboratory as well as the beginning for the 2012 Baseball Season. To tie in the theme they brought in 1974 National League MVP Steve Garvey. In addition to the festivities private tours were provided which ended with an opportunity to get a signature from the special guest. Event set up and coordination provided by Lone Star Exhibits while MC and music by Damon with PRP Entertainment.
We had the opportunity to cover the retirement party for John Hughes, one of the founding members of the the respected Houston law firm Hughes, Watters and Askansase. The event was held at Brennan’s of Houston and was attended by many clients, associates and family.
All I can say is timing is everything. We had torrential rain that afternoon and was pleasantly surprised that it ending raining a mere 20 minutes before the session at Hermann Park. So we had fantastic, soft overcast lighting during the entire session. Aubrie and Randy also brought along there trusted dog, Benji. So everything worked out well, except that with the aftermath of the storms, Benji, who had just been groomed, was no longer as clean as he had arrived.
Another interesting tidbit is that this is the third engagement session in a row that each couple know each other through school or work. What are the odds? We look forward to covering their wedding in October.

Emily and Ben’s wedding was such a blast! These two were married at the Rice University’s Cohen House and it was just gorgeous. The party got started inside afterward as the guests danced the night away to the band Doppelganger. Congratulations!

Jennifer was the recipient of our gift certificate recently at the Weddings in Houston bridal show. We met her and her fiancé Jonathan at Hermann Park for their engagement session. We had a brief shower in the middle of the session but were able to continue and wrap it up shortly after. They are getting married this November.
