Once again, the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives successfully executed its 5th Annual Wedding Trends Event. And for the fifth year in a row D. Jones Photography was the official event photographers. This was the first in the five years that was an evening event, which was held at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum and a magnificently transformed airplane hanger complete with a 1940’s era plane as the background. There were so many participating vendors (over 80) that made this one of the largest local NACE events to date. One of the many highlights was the arrival of our “bride and groom” who pulled up in a Lear jet, strolled onto the dance floor for a special dance lead by the Richard Brown Orchestra, then proceeded to cut a cake from Who Made the Cake? that was lowered from the ceiling. An aerialist was also on hand suspended upside down pouring Moet champagne. You just had to be there to experience how amazing everything was.
Donated services from the vendors was well over $300,000 and it certainly shows with the attention to detail of decorations including tenting, entertainment, lighting, food, servers, transportation… Proceeds from the auction are being donated to our local University of Houston Student Chapter, which is the largest and most active in the organization.
