Laura and I covered the wedding of Amy and Christopher this last weekend. What a wonderful couple they are, so wonderfully laid back and genuine. Amy surprised Chris with a set of custom cuff links inset with an image we did from their engagement session. She also had her mother’s wedding dress altered by Barbara Joyce Evans, lead cutter for the Houston Ballet, with a more contemporary neckline and minus the sleeves for a more modern rendition. She added a sweet overlay for the service that included a pattern from the original dress.
A family friend of the Taylor’s, Revered Tim, officiated the ceremony for them at Bering Drive Church of Christ. The reception followed at BraeBurn Country Club, with florals provided by The Secret Floral Garden and cake by Virginia’s Cakes. We were first introduced to Amy and Chris at Carrie and Luke’s wedding last year. Borrowing such a great treat was the fact that they too brought in The Hollisters from Austin to entertain their guests. Following a honeymoon to Bora Bora, the couple will reside in Houston.
